The Hardy Boys Ghost Stories is a standalone spin-off book of The Hardy Boys series. It was first published in 1984 by Wanderer Books (an imprint of Simon & Schuster).

Publishing history

Simon & Schuster first published The Hardy Boys Ghost Stories in 1984 under the imprint they used for all other Hardy Boys titles at the time, Wanderer Books. In July 1987, the book was reprinted under Simon & Schuster's then-new Minstrel Books imprint, and then was reprinted again in 2002, this time under the Alladin Paperbacks imprint.[1][2]

Each reprint used new cover art, and as a result Ghost Stories has a grand total of five covers. Even most of the very first Hardy Boys books, published back in the 1920s, have that many. The Wanderer editions of the book have internal illustrations, but they were removed from later reprints.[1]

Out of all the spin-offs of The Hardy Boys series, that were published in the 1980s, this is the only one still in print.[1]
